Dear God, I didn't think I'd ever get this done. By the by...

HELLO, FAITHFUL WATCHERS!! It's been a long time!! Haven't seen you guys in a while. I've been caught up with college and the holidays lately, but that's not really an excuse not to check sooner, so I'm sorry. I was kinda afraid to get back on here after so long cause I knew there'd be a lot of messages. Surely enough, I HAVE 1,000 PLUS. I'll never sift through all of them!! WAAAAAHHHHHHH!! But I'll get started on it tomorrow. It's past my bedtime, so I need to get this posted and hit the sack.

Anyway, this guy up here in the Dark Ace, and the last Storm Hawks character I plan on drawing (at least for a while). He's Master Cyclonis's right hand man and most trusted warrior. About ten years before the series began, he was a member of the previous Storm Hawks before he betrayed them. While on good terms with Cyclonis, he's contemptuous of pretty much everyone else, having no qualms with disposing of anyone, even his own men, if it helps him get what he wants. He's belligerent, remorseless, and one of the most lethal pilots in the skies of Atmos.

...and God, was he hard.

Maybe it's because I haven't drawn in a while, but I kept having to go back and add forgotten details and redo several things. Then his sword was a bitch to do, and the lighting was hard, and I had a hard time figuring out a good background for him, and a good pose, and Jesus, the drawing just wouldn't end!! I don't really know what to think of the finished piece. I like it, but I had wanted it to be clean and pristine like Aerrow, which it isn't. XP I pretty much did him the same way as Aerrow, relying solely on the tablet to get him drawn and colored and experimenting with a few more photoshop effects (like the fire) in the background). Overall, it's ehhhhhh... I can live with it.

So, the Dark Ace. He's actually one my favorite characters, despite being, you know, a cold-blooded murderer. I find his appearance perplexing. When I see him drawn by other deviants on this site, he's usually made to look like a bishounen, but I don't think Nerd Corps designed him to be attractive. He was actually quite fugly in the original teaser trailer, so who knows ==> ([link]). I tried to reach an in-between with that, but you guys can decide if I succeeded or not. I think one of the reasons I like him so much is because he's enigmatic and makes for good fanfiction. I don't know; I think it's kind of strange that he could become second in command to Master Cyclonis despite being a traitor (trust issues, much?). Then there's the lingering question as to why he betrayed the Storm Hawks to begin with. This brings up all kinds of other issues like his past and his relationships to the people around him then and now. He's one of the funner characters to theorize about.

And... that's all I got for tonight. I promise you by the great state of Mississippi that I will be back on here VERY SOON, and I will try to get through these messages. I made it a New Years resolution to check this site once or twice a week, and to try to post more art than I did last year, but we'll see how it goes.
